Membership of The Farmers’ Union of Wales brings with it access to many really valuable services, all exclusively to members:
1. Continuing Healthcare
Continuing Healthcare is a package of care provided by the NHS for anyone who has a Primary Healthcare need. It is a valuable source of funding as it provides for the full cost of care (including accommodation) for anyone living in a care home and can also cover the cost of private nursing care for those who are still able to be cared for in their own home.
It is not, however, a widely published scheme and many care home residents may have been paying fees which should have been met by the NHS.
a) North Wales and Mid Wales: Our specially selected partner, Simpson Millar Solicitors will be able to assist FUW members and families in the process of reclaiming and, in some case, potential assistance with meeting significant care home fees.
Janet Cooper is our contact there and you can email her(email@example.com) or you can telephone 0345 357 9000
