Join us in celebrating the benefits of dairy

The FUW will be raising a glass of milk to celebrate the benefits of dairy on the upcoming World School Milk Day held on Wednesday 24th September 2025.

Over 40 countries will be joining us in celebrating this special day and the role that school milk programmes play in supporting children’s health and wellbeing.

Milk provides multiple benefits to school children; its mineral and nutrient rich composition supports a child’s growth and cognitive development. Studies have proven that schools which offer milk to students have improved concentration and learning outcomes.

Welsh farmers proudly produce nutritious milk for you to enjoy as a refreshing drink or to be manufactured into delicious dairy products such as cheese, yoghurts and butter right here in Wales.

Farming in Wales also provides a host of other benefits, both socially and economically, supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs and tens of thousands of businesses involved in the Welsh food supply industry, and making innumerable contributions to the wellbeing of Welsh and UK residents.

FUW Milk and Dairy Produce Committee Chair Brian Walters added: “The benefits of the nutritional value of dairy products as well as the social and economic benefits of dairy farming should be celebrated and the FUW looks forward to doing that on 24th September.”
