The DPJ Foundation has set up new free Mental Health Awareness Training sessions to be delivered on-line throughout November. The training is fully funded by the Coronavirus Mental Health Response Fund: Wales as part of a programme that aims to help Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations to continue to provide mental health services during this pandemic.
The training is for anyone who works/lives in the agricultural sector or works directly with farmers in Wales. It will appeal to farmers, farmers’ partners and those in farm facing roles such as vets, feed reps, tanker drivers, salesmen and women and animal welfare inspectors. Participants will receive a resource pack after the training to help them put the training into practice.
The training will cover:
- What is Mental Health
- Why mental health is so important in agriculture
- How to spot the signs of someone struggling with poor mental health, including anxiety and depression.
- Suicide awareness including supporting families bereaved by suicide.
- How to hold conversations about mental wellbeing and signpost people to support
- How to manage your own mental wellbeing
The three and a half hour sessions are delivered via Zoom and can be booked via Ticket Tailor here https://buytickets.at/thedpjfoundation
