You can become involved as little or as much as you like. Many members take up membership for the reassurance that they have support and guidance when issues arise. Others take up membership so they have a direct channel to have their voice heard by government and policy makers. We strongly encourage all members to engage fully to ensure that we lobby for the things that really matter to the farming community in Wales.
We have a dedicated space on our website for members to connect with each other via our forums. Members can meet each other at all events we attend e.g. breakfast events in January, plus at meetings, county branch meetings, Academi events and farm visits etc. If you are attending local or national shows in Wales the FUW stand is the best place to network with other members whilst enjoying hospitality and a rest.
The FUW actively seeks opinions from members to lobby politicians and farming bodies. We listen to our members at county and committee meetings, by conducting consultations via the website and by meeting you face to face at marts and shows. Our local branches are only a phone call away and channel opinions to form the heart of our policy positions. Contact your local office to share your views.

FUW maintains a grassroots connection via numerous local offices providing support and guidance. The county groups provide representation and support on local issues. Head Office challenges government through lobbying and campaigning. We also develop market areas and provide information via our sector committees. In addition to this, our Presidential Policy Team is elected by our farmer members and represent farmers at local, national, and international level, often taking part in ministerial meetings, stakeholder workshops and local branch meetings.
