Wales Air Ambulance delivers rapid-response emergency care by air and road, reaching patients in the most critical situations.
Established on St David’s Day, 1 March 2001
The charity operates from multiple bases across Wales, providing national coverage.
Relies on £11.2 million in public donations each year
Entirely funded by the people of Wales, with no direct government funding.
Delivers hospital-level care at the scene of an emergency
Highly trained on-board consultants and practitioners can perform: • Blood transfusions • Anaesthesia • Emergency surgical procedures
Referred to as a ‘Flying Emergency Department’
Aircraft are equipped with some of the most advanced medical equipment available in pre-hospital care.
On standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Over 42,000 missions completed since 2001. The charity has supported thousands of families with life-saving care.

The FUW’s Farmhouse Breakfast Week raises thousands for the
Wales Air Ambulance 2025.

The Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) Farmhouse Breakfast Week has helped raise over £13,500 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Around two thousand people attended events hosted at twenty-four venues across the country, serving breakfast using produce from local farms, as the union marks its 70th anniversary.
