The Welsh Government scheme offers grants to fund or part-fund new broadband installations in Wales to homes and businesses. The scheme offers funding for installations only and does not fund any monthly rental costs.
New connections through this scheme must deliver a significant change in speed. The new connection must at least double the current download speeds.
The amount of funding you can receive depends on the speed of the new connection:
- £400 for 10Mbps and above
- £800 for 30Mbps and above
Before applying for funding, applicants should check whether they have access to an existing fast broadband service by using Openreach’s address checker at: https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/ultrafast-full-fibre-broadband#fibrechecker
Applicants will also need to consider the speed connection required and choose an internet service provider (ISP) that can meet the needs identified and get a written quotation from them.
