The Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) is no longer in place as of 4th July, 2023.
APHA have announced that the risk of avian influenza has now been reduced to 'low' for all poultry. As a result, mandatory requirements have been lifted.
Although the risk has reduced, recent outbreaks mean that the threat has not gone away and farmers and producers must remain vigilant.
All poultry gatherings, including at fairs, shows and markets, remain banned, due to a large number of flocks mixing together and the risk posed by any infections spreading across the country.
