British Wool will be paying an overall average of 36.4 pence per kg to its members for the 2021 clip following a 135% increase over the past 12 months.
Returns for the 2021 clip will be around 40p per kg for many core grades, around 30p per kg for Blackface wool and around 15p per kg for Welsh and Swaledale.
Herdwick wool will return 80p per kg and Bluefaced Leicester will return £5.50 per kg. An additional £1.00 per kg is also being paid for most types of organic certified wool.
Clips of more than 2 tonnes will receive an extra 4p per kg, increasing to 8p per kg for clips of 8 tonnes or more.
The free onward haulage from all drop off points will be maintained, and British Wool will be returning to the single payment system for the 2022 season.
