The Ceredigion branch of the Farmers’ Union of Wales is hosting three breakfast events in February to celebrate not just the sustainable, nutritious food farmers produce every day, but also to get people round the table to talk about their worries, concerns and hopes, as well as wider farming matters.
The breakfast functions, which are open to all, will be held on Wednesday 9 February at Mynach Community Centre, Devils Bridge, Thursday 10 February at Caerwedros Hall, Caerwedros and Friday 11 February at Felinfach Hall, Felinfach.
Breakfasts are £10 per person with proceeds being donated towards the FUW President's charity - The DPJ Foundation.
Speaking ahead of the events, FUW Ceredigion County Executive officer Emma Davies said: “We are very excited to be able to host these three breakfast events after we were delayed because of Covid-19. Breakfast week marks an important time in our calendar every year as it gives us a chance to get together with friends, family, neighbours and other farmers who we might not see regularly.
“We get to share our thoughts about the state of the industry, worries, concerns and hopes too and that is really important. The last couple of years have been tough for us all and I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone.”
The FUW’s Farmhouse Breakfast is also an opportunity to discuss the most critical farming matters with elected politicians, who are invited to join the Union for breakfast.
FUW Ceredigion chairman Morys Ioan said: “We extend a warm welcome to all our local politicians and hope many will join us for breakfast. There are many things to discuss and what better way to do that than over a cuppa and breakfast.”
