The Ceredigion branch of the Farmers’ Union of Wales is set to host a special information evening for members on the current agricultural water pollution regulations facing the farming industry (NVZ regulations).
The meeting, which is open to FUW members, is held on Thursday 21 September at Aberaeron Rugby club and will commence at 8pm.
Speakers on the night include FUW Senior Policy and Communications Officer Gareth Parry, who will summarise and discuss the Control of Agricultural Pollution regulations; as well as Councillor Clive Davies, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration who will discuss planning, the increase in agricultural planning applications and the problems caused by phosphate management in Ceredigion. Dr Iwan Owen, a former lecturer from Aberystwyth University, will discuss the management of nitrates, soil and grassland.
Members will have the opportunity to question the experts on the regulations or any other related matters. Newly appointed Ceredigion Deputy County Executive Officer, Dafi Jones is also looking forward to meeting members on the night.
