The theme for this year’s event is “What will sustain our family farms in the future”and guest speakers addressing the challenging question are James Owen, Deputy Director, Land Management Reform, Welsh Government and Dr Prysor Williams, Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management, School of Natural Sciences, Bangor University.

FUW Meirionnydd County Executive Officer Huw Jones said:

“The meeting is held at a time when significant and very important change is coming to the agricultural industry, and many farmers want to know what lies ahead.

Huw Jones-2“They will want to know what will sustain them and indeed our rural areas for the future, and this will be the focus of the meeting. We will soon have legislation outlining the proposed Sustainable Farming Scheme, and there will undoubtedly be detailed conversation about this.

“It should be a thought-provoking event, where we will look at the challenges facing the industry. The event is open to all, and we very much hope that as many as possible will be able to join us that evening through zoom.”
